"Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from."-- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
The game was interrupted. Life interacted with me in an undesirable way, which influenced this project. The voice was silenced and the project went on a break. A long break.
But it refused to die.
There is still a story to tell here. One about mountains and ports. About triangles. And about things that never die.
So I will continue the story.
And the port.
The motivation is still the same as George Mallory's: Why climb the mountain? Because it's there. It's not much deeper than that. I am intrigued to see what happens when modern computing meets old technology.
But there is also the opposite -- so much computing genius now hidden in history, that deserves a place in the present. That is also part of the story.
Visualizing some of this genius is an additional motivation for this blog. Showing the wonders of computing in an accessible and fun way. Computers can do amazing things, and most of the time we only use them for boring office work. Let's do fun things!
In the next post I'll tell a bit more about where we're restarting from, and what to expect now. Thanks to all who have sent encouragement along the way. Thanks for following.
